Smell plays an important role in our memory. Alexandra Lamy experiences it with Giorgio Beverly Hills, a perfume that reminds her of her mother and the moments shared with her.

Sometimes a smell is enough to bring back childhood memories. For Alexandra Lamy, it is the Giorgio Beverly Hills perfume that reminds her of her mother. In a beauty interview with Gala magazine, the actress explains why this fragrance means so much to her.

Giorgio Beverly Hills: Alexandra Lamy’s favorite perfume

Launched in 1981, Giorgio Beverly Hills is a floral fragrance with luminous notes.

“It’s my Proust madeleine, it reminds me of my mom’s wool sweaters. In fact, she wore it before me,” confides the actress to Gala magazine.

According to the Cosmopolitan website, this perfume is sold for around 17.10 euros. It combines notes of orange blossom and bergamot with a floral heart composed in particular of jasmine, gardenia and tuberose. Sandalwood, patchouli and vanilla bring warmer notes.

Why does this perfume remind him of his mother?

For Alexandra Lamy, Giorgio Beverly Hills is much more than a perfume. It reminds him of his mother and the memories linked to his childhood. By adopting this fragrance, the actress finds a familiar smell that is dear to her.

This is what we call a Proust madeleine: a smell or flavor that brings back a memory. The expression comes from the novel In search of lost time by Marcel Proust, in which the taste of a madeleine dipped in tea takes the narrator back to his childhood.

How to wear Giorgio Beverly Hills?

As the perfume has a strong trail, the Cosmopolitan website advises applying it in moderation. A few sprays on the neck, wrists or behind the ears may be enough.

According to Grazia magazine, its hold is long-lasting. It is therefore suitable for people who like strong perfumes, as long as you do not apply too much.
