Lemon is one of the fruits richest in vitamin C (more than 29 mg per 100 mg). This vitamin contributes to the proper functioning of the immune system in addition to reducing fatigue. It is therefore a source of vitality, significant in the middle of winter. But the tangy citrus fruit is not limited to these properties, it is also known to cleanse the body and is even said to be beneficial for fighting hangovers. How does the lemon detox work?
This slimming diet falls into the category of low-calorie diets. This involves reducing the number of calories received by the body, while consuming lemon juice at regular intervals. Following this diet requires incorporating lemon juice into meals, as a condiment.
Say goodbye to red meat, sour cream and fried foods. These foods provide “bad fat” to the body and promote weight gain. During this detox, your plate will be exclusively composed of foods rich in “good fats”, such as avocado, eggs or salmon, and whole foods, such as rice, pasta or legumes.
This diet goes perfectly with the practice of sport, as long as the diet remains balanced and does not cause a deficiency. The World Health Organization therefore recommends practicing at least 150 to 300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity per week (i.e. at least half an hour per day). For more intense activity, this duration should be divided by two.
Specialists recommend following a lemon cure for 15 to 21 days. Obviously, this method may work differently from one person to another. The ideal remains to listen to your body.
