What are the health risks?

The problem detected with this turmeric is the presence of
chlorpyrifos at a level higher than the limit authorized by regulations. Chlorpyrifos is a pesticide used to kill insects, but can also affect the human nervous system. The authorities consider it particularly worrying for the development of children and the health of pregnant women.

Even if one-time consumption does not always cause visible symptoms, exceeding the established thresholds increases the risk to long-term health. This is why this batch is being removed from the shelves and recalled to consumers’ kitchens.

What should the consumer do?

The instructions are clear: no longer consume ground turmeric 37 g BUTTON OF GOLD of lot L26069. People who still have this pot should either destroy it or return it to a store
Intermarchéeven without a receipt.

At reception or customer service, a
refund is planned as part of the recall operation. If in doubt after consumption, especially for a child or a fragile person, advice can be sought from a health professional.
