From primary to high school, several measures appear: revision of programs, experimentation of the uniform, supervision of digital uses and generalization of education in emotional and sexual life.
Reviewed programs and a reorganized college
Back to school marks an important step in the reform of the college, engaged in the continuity of the “shock of knowledge” launched by Gabriel Attal in 2023. Objective: to strengthen fundamental learning, from reading, writing to oral expression through mathematics and modern languages.
From CM1 and until 6th grade, French and mathematics programs are updated. Civic and moral education evolves from CM2 to 4th, technology is revised in 4th grade and modern language courses experience 6th and second adjustments. To limit level differences upon entry to college, skills groups will gradually be implemented, allowing more suitable follow -up of students.
Watch and uniform screens on test
After a first test phase in 2024, the “portable in break” system will extend to all public colleges by the end of 2025. The idea: to reduce the exposure time to screens in order to preserve the sleep, concentration and mental health of the students.
Another sensitive subject: school uniform. The experiment carried out in 2024-2025 in a hundred establishments-white polo shirt, gray sweater and navy blue pants-continues. The State and the municipalities have financed this endowment, which will be subject to an assessment of 2025. This report will say if the port of the uniform must be extended to other establishments from 2026.
Generalized emotional life education
A great novelty of this school year: education in emotional and sexual life becomes compulsory for all levels. Three annual sessions are planned, with content adapted to the age of students.
In primary school, they focus on self -knowledge, expression of emotions, respect for others and prevention of violence. In college and high school, courses widen to themes such as contraception, sexually transmitted infections, consent, equality between girls and boys and the fight against harassment. .
Faced with the concerns expressed by certain families, the ministry insists: these lessons aim above all to protect children and to help them grow in responsibility.
