Recall of E. Leclerc minced steaks: risks with E. coli STEC bacteria
The RappelConso sheet mentions the presence ofToxigenic Shiga Escherichia coli (STEC)a family of E. coli bacteria capable of producing toxins that are aggressive to the body. In the week following consumption of a contaminated product, this infection can cause diarrhea, sometimes bloody, abdominal pain, vomiting, with or without fever.
In 5 to 8% of cases, these digestive disorders are followed by severe kidney complications, especially in children. People who have eaten these steaks and present these symptoms should consult their doctor immediately, reporting the consumption. If there are no symptoms within 15 days, no specific consultation is requested.
