At 41, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make his mark, this time away from the field. According to a study carried out by the Selvitys institute for He is well ahead of Michael Olise and Kylian Mbappé, both credited with 10%.
If this result confirms the intact popularity of CR7, the figures reveal a much more contrasting reality. Preferences change greatly depending on the generation, to the point that those under 25 already place another player at the top of their choices.
Cristiano Ronaldo remains number one, but his success grows with age
With 22% of the answers, Cristiano Ronaldo obtains more than double the score of his first two pursuers. Michael Olise and Kylian Mbappé share second place with 10%, while Harry Kane and Lionel Messi each collect 6%. Further down the ranking, Vinícius Júnior, Vitinha and Mohamed Salah remain below 1%.
The study shows above all that the success of Portuguese increases with the age of the respondents. It obtains 15% among 18-34 year olds, 22% among 35-54 year olds, then 25% among people aged 55 and over. Its best result is recorded among 55-64 year olds, where it reaches 27%.
This trend is also found according to socio-professional categories. Cristiano Ronaldo obtains 34% among job seekers and homemakers, as well as 25% among retirees.
Jude Bellingham shakes up the hierarchy among the under 25s

The gap appears even more marked among students. Jude Bellingham won 28% of the votes, ahead of Michael Olise (18%) and Kylian Mbappé (15%). Cristiano Ronaldo drops to 8% in this category.
The results also differ between men and women. Cristiano Ronaldo remains first in both cases with 21% and 22% respectively. Among men, Michael Olise then Jude Bellingham come behind the Portuguese, while Erling Haaland is cited more by male respondents.
Kylian Mbappé is an exception in the study. Its score remains relatively stable across generations, oscillating between 9% and 13%. He even recorded his best result among people aged 65 and over, where he became the main pursuer of Cristiano Ronaldo.
French players do better than Cristiano Ronaldo… when they come together
Taken individually, no French player manages to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo in this poll. On the other hand, the five internationals included in the study – Michael Olise, Kylian Mbappé, Theo Hernandez, Ousmane Dembélé and Adrien Rabiot – together totaled 28% of the votes, compared to 22% for the Portuguese.
This collective support appears slightly more marked among women, where the five Blues account for 29% of responses, as well as among people aged 55 and over, with 31%. At the regional level, Cristiano Ronaldo nevertheless retains first place as the most mentioned player, with peaks of 29% in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and 26% in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The results show that while the Portuguese captain remains the most popular personality individually, the French internationals collectively benefit from strong support among those surveyed.
