It's not the stomach or the buttocks: this area however creates many more complexes!
A real seductive asset for some and an object of repulsion for others, this part of the body is complex for many French people. Decryption.

After spending the winter hidden, the body of the French takes advantage of the return of sunny days to reveal itself again. But as shown by the results of the investigation carried out by the Flashs institute on behalf of the Poderm laboratory, a specific part seems to be of concern to the French. Here’s which one.

1 in 3 French people have already given up on an activity… so as not to show their feet

If some love their feet and even consider them as an asset of seduction (or a potential source of income), others perceive them as generating embarrassment, complexes, or even social avoidance, according to the Flashs survey carried out among 2,000 people.

So, whatever their shape, nearly one in five French people don’t like their feet. A complex amplified among the fairer sex: 26% of women do not like their feet, compared to only 9% of men.

Concerning the main reasons for embarrassment, they appear to be plural: French men and women are self-conscious about the appearance of their nails (36%), the shape of their feet (30%), their horns (28%), the size of their feet (19%) and the smell of their tootsies (13%).

24% of French people also feel judged when their feet are visible, a feeling even more pronounced among 18-24 year olds (38%)“, details the press release. Result? “Nearly a third of French people have already given up an activity so as not to have to show their feet.

In addition, while they support us from a very young age and allow us to carry out most of our daily activities, the feet are largely neglected. Less than a third of French people provide them with specific care at least once a week.

What is a “beautiful foot”? The French have decided

Relegated to the shadow of our shoes most of the time, feet are not devoid of beauty. They can even be considered a real seduction asset, provided they respect certain criteria.

  • 33% of French people consider that a beautiful foot is defined primarily by the absence of dermatological problems, such as fungal infections and other warts;
  • Next, for 28%, come purely aesthetic considerations, namely a thin, well-proportioned foot;
  • 18% prefer feet when they are natural and free from special care;
  • Fewer – 12% – are those who, on the contrary, consider manicured and varnished feet beautiful.

When they meet these conditions, the feet transform into a real object of desire.

Feet are considered a potential seductive asset by some four in ten French people (40%), 8% of whom say this is absolutely the case. Men are also slightly more sensitive to it than women: 44% see it as an element that can play a role in seduction, compared to 37% of women. On the other hand, 48% of respondents are categorical in affirming that this is not at all the case concerning them“, concludes the study.

Enough to see your feet… differently!
