Salmonella and frozen samosas: health risks
The authorities describe foodborne illnesses with sudden gastrointestinal disorders: diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, often accompanied by fever and headaches. These symptoms generally appear between 6 and 72 hours after consuming a contaminated product, and febrile gastroenteritis can occur within 48 hours if the product has been improperly cooked through.
Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people who are immunocompromised or with comorbidities are more exposed to serious forms. Cooking thoroughly at 65°C usually destroys salmonella, but for these specific batches it is requested that you no longer consume them at all. Without symptoms within 7 days following possible consumption, medical consultation is not considered necessary.
