Who are the creators of Nook Care?
Fanny Prigent: Behind Nook, there is my story, but also that of millions of other people. I myself experienced sexual violence in childhood, and it took me seven years of medical wandering before finally finding an adapted care path. This personal experience pushed me to create Nook, a therapeutic solution thought for those who, like me, have long suffered in silence. I gathered around this project a scientific council made up of expert psychologists in psychotraumatology, like Karen Sadlier and Emmanuelle Vaux Lacroix. Together, we have built a protocol based on best scientific practices to allow in -depth reconstruction. Our objective: to make this suffering long ignored visible and threatening.
Who is your solution to, and how does it meet a need for women?
Our program is intended for adults – mainly women – having experienced sexual violence in childhood. These women can suffer without always putting words on their symptoms: nightmares, chronic pain, fatigue, hypervigilance, mood disorders … The complex trauma linked to VSES is still poorly understood and poorly taken care of. And yet, 85 % of children victims do not have access to suitable care. Today, medical wandering is on average 13 years. With Nook, we offer accessible, benevolent, and supporting support. It helps reduce symptoms, regulate emotions, strengthen the feeling of security and regain self -esteem. It is also a way to break up isolation and rebuilding within a collective.
Can you introduce us in detail Nook?
Nook, these are online group programs, over 2 to 3 months, designed to adapt to the daily life of the women concerned. Each group brings together fifteen participants, supervised by one or two specialized psychologists, with a collective session per week in Visio. In addition, the participants receive home practice supports and psycho-education content to better understand their reactions. We learn of concrete appeasement techniques: anchoring, visualization, psycho-corporeal exercises … It is a secure space where you feel heard, where you progress at your own pace. All accessible from 550 €, with possible support via certain mutuals. Nook, it is both a therapeutic framework, a tool for autonomy and a sorority space.
What are the next steps for your business?
We are launching new groups every month, but we are going further: we are developing a digital interface to help women better understand what they live and choose their care path. We also work with health professionals-doctors, midwives, psychologists-to improve the detection and management of sexual violence in childhood. Finally, we actively work for these care to be recognized by the health authorities and taken care of by health insurance. The objective is clear: to allow all the victims, everywhere in the French -speaking space, to access adapted care, scientifically validated, and deeply human.
