Health is at stake on the plate. On TikTok and Instagram, Dr. Tim Tiutan, hospital oncologist, regularly shares his practical advice to better protect yourself from cancer. In one of his videos he revealed three foods that he considers the best for weight loss and strengthening prevention. Good news, they are accessible to everyone.
Blueberries, fiber and antioxidant allies
First on his list: blueberry, a “super food that helps manage weight“. Dr. Tiutan emphasizes the importance of “eat dietary fiber” when you want to lose weight. A portion of fresh blueberries, or a small cup, provides around 4 g of fiber. These help reduce cholesterol and prolong the feeling of satiety.
Their richness in antioxidants also makes them an asset for general health. As Dr. Suzanne Manzi explains to the media SheFinds, they allow you to feel full while providing few calories.
Whole grains, a shield for the colon
Second recommended food: whole grains. The fibers they contain prevent blood sugar spikes and limit weight gain. According to the oncologist, “it reduces the risk of cholesterol and colon cancer“.
Among the options to favor, he cites barley, brown rice, quinoa, rye, millet and even bulgur. Simple choices that fit easily into everyday meals.
Raspberries, fibers and natural ketones
Finally, Dr. Tiutan recommends raspberries. One cup provides about 8 g of fiber, a record among fruits. Dr Suzanne Manzi recalls: “Raspberries are full of water and fiber, which helps keep you hydrated and curb your appetite“.
They also contain ketones, natural substances that can support metabolism and limit fat storage.
The doctor, however, insists on the importance of overall healthy lifestyle. Limiting alcohol is just as essential: “We usually think about what we eat rather than what we drink, which can affect weight gain“.
These three foods, combined with good habits, form a solid foundation for maintaining a healthy weight and reducing the risk of disease.
