Posting teens in Cergy: a psychologist deciphers the unthinkable
From this Monday, a group of seven young people will be tried at the Assises de Pontoise to have prostitute teenage girls aged 13 to 15. A sordid affair that reveals the worst facets of man … but which must also push us to think collectively.

Can we really be a pimp at 14 or 15 years old? According to the affair that shakes the Assize Court of Val-d’Oise, yes. In 2020, a young woman and six men, some of whom were miners, would indeed held a brothel of fortune in Cergy. An icing drama, which questions. How to explain such acts at such an early age? Amélie Boukhobza, clinical psychologist, decrypts for doctissismo the psychic profile of these young people.

40 passes in less than a month

According to France Info, the said network based in Cergy was made up of seven young people, some of whom were minors at the time of the events. At his head was a 19 -year -old young man, identified as the main organizer. Fugue with a home, it would seem to have been motivated by the lure of gain.

On the victims’ side, four very young adolescent girls, aged 13 to 15, would have been sexually exploited. One of them would have been prostitute for almost a year (from 2021 to 2022), while the other three would have undergone sexual abuse for a few weeks or a few months. The passes, sometimes daily (one of the young women underwent 40 reports priced in less than a month) took place in hotel rooms or in the car of certain customers, under the supervision of their executioners.

Faced with these acts, the main accused, named Warren M., a big risk.

Cathy Richard, lawyer for one of the victims, believes that these “Young people, for the most part, are psychopaths. We have this term which is mentioned, of perversion. They only see one thing, it is the financial report. They do not feel any form of guilt“She reveals.

Convictable behaviors but which tend to be commonplace, according to a police officer.

“”The number of these files has increased tenfold in ten years and more particularly concerning increasingly young victims, aged between 13 and 14 years“, reveals a police commissioner to the Parisian. “Posting has changed. Today, it’s easy, just a phone, you are going to make an ad and give appointments”, he said.

A societal phenomenon that worries and questions. What’s going on in the heads of these young people to come to prostitute four young girls? Amélie Boukhobza, clinical psychologist tries to explain to us … the inexplicable.

The case currently deemed in Pontoise is not isolated. In Bordeaux, two young men are implicated for organizing, between October 2021 and April 2022, prostitution of at least five minors placed in the social assistance in childhood. According to the survey opened by the Bordeaux prosecution, the victims, often in fugue, were attracted to the apartment of one of the defendants, where they consumed drugs and alcohol in exchange for sex. Gradually, these teenagers would have been encouraged to prostitute themselves, the gains being shared with their pimps. Despite his pre -trial detention, one of them would have continued to organize the connections from his cell.

This affair, where the ACPE (acting against prostitution of children) has been a civil party, highlights two disturbing trends:

  • The growing bond between narcotics and prostitution, pimps exploiting addictions to establish their grip;
  • Home recruitment, where vulnerable young girls are targeted by other residents already involved, or by external pimps taking advantage of their isolation.

These files illustrate the same diagram: the exploitation of adolescent fragility (runaways, dependencies, affective quest) in a context where access to social networks and the trivialization of market sexuality facilitate acting.

Different factors can push these young people to commit the worst

According to the expert, the prospect of fast gains should not be overlooked.

“The mirage of easy gain, the idea of a business that quickly reports, effortlessly, necessarily seduces at this age when we are trying to assert oneself. But reducing the case to a story of money would be too short and too easy. We also observe the need for power, the grip exerted on other young people, the fascination for transgression. Useing the other becomes a way of asserting themselves. she reveals.

This terrain is nourished and outbid by a context. “Early exposure to pornography shapes a distorted vision of the body and sexuality, where consent disappears and where market exchange seems almost banal. Social networks are still amplifying this logic, by valuing exhibition and hypersexualization. Finally, the group effect also plays a decisive role (as we have seen in other cases): responsibility is erased behind the collective, the prohibition seems to be less serious, legitimized. continues the psychologist.

The unthinkable then becomes possible.

“And it is precisely this discrepancy: to see almost children take the most violent codes of the adult world. This kind of business is not only judicial, it obliges us to think collectively: on emotional and sexual education, on the way in which we speak of the body, respect, and on the responsibility of a society that lets its adolescents learn sexuality in the worst corners of digital. Without accompaniment or too little”, concludes Amélie Boukhobza.
