More flexible retirement, drop -down gas bill, new screening for babies … Back to school 2025 is accompanied by concrete measures which will directly receive the daily life of the French from September 1.
Progressive retreat accessible from 60 years old
From September 1, employees can request gradual retirement from the age of 60, compared to 62 before. This device makes it possible to reduce your working time while receiving part of your pension. To benefit from it, two conditions: having validated at least 150 quarters of contributions and occupy a position between 40 and 80 % of full time. The employer’s agreement remains compulsory.
Work stoppages: Compulsory new cerfa
No more tolerance period: Any work stoppage must now be issued on the new secure CERFA form provided by health insurance. Since September 1, old paper supports, scanned or photocopied, have been systematically refused. The stated objective is to fight fraud.
Blood donation: reduced deadlines after tattooing or piercing
Good news for donors: exclusion time after a tattoo, piercing or certain invasive medical acts (acupuncture, endoscopy, mesotherapy) go from four to two months. Another softening, dental implantology is no longer considered as a contraindication. The French blood establishment recalls that nearly 10,000 donations are required every day to meet the needs.
Neonatal screening: Three rare diseases added
The neonatal screening program widens on September 1. Three rare pathologies are now sought after in infants: severe combined immune deficits (one in 63,500 cases), infantile spinal amyotrophy (1 in 10,000 births in Europe) and the VLCAD deficit (1 in 100,000). Their early detection allows fast and suitable management.
Gas bill slightly decrease
The gas heated households see their bill decrease slightly: the price per kWh including tax drops by 2.41 %, going from € 0.10801 to € 0.10,540. For an average annual consumption of 11,200 kWh, the bill drops around € 29, from € 1,540 to € 1,511. But this drop is to be put into perspective, because the annual subscription remains set at € 330.80, a level still high after the increase in VAT of August.
