These 3 morning routines to try this summer to better start your days
Want to wake up in better shape and lighten your days this summer? Here are three effective morning routines to find calm, energy and motivation.

There are those who wake up a blow and those who press the Snooze button three times. But between productivity and letting go, is there an ideal morning routine? This is precisely the question that many are asking the summer approach. And for good reason: this season naturally invites you to change its habits, to slow down, and to experience more aligned rituals. Follower of the late morning, there is no fixed rule.

Slow Morning, for a peaceful and natural awakening

It is the favorite routine of those who refuse to start their day as a race against the clock. Inspired by the Slow Living movement, Slow Morning invites you to create a space of calm between alarm clock and the first obligations. Neither precise timing nor expected performance: here, we listen to ourselves.

Popularized in the book Morning miracle From Hal Elrod, this ritual has transformed in recent months into a viral phenomenon on Tiktok and Instagram. The idea: get out of bed without throwing yourself on your phone, take the time for a moment for yourself – reading, meditation, stretching, soft music, writing or simple contemplation from the balcony.

What do those who adopt it say? Less stress, a better mood, a stronger anchor in the present moment. And above all, a feeling of control that lasts all day.

The Morning Routine “5-9”, for those who like to start strong

In the exact opposite of Slow Morning, the 5-9 routine rhymes with early awakening with maximum productivity. View more than 50 million times on Tiktok via hashtags #5TO9RATINE or #MORNINGROUTINE, it consists in condenser the best of your day … before 9am.

Concretely? Wake up at 5:00 am. Complete breakfast (fresh juice, fruit, seeds, proteins), sport or yoga, cold shower, newspaper, reading, day planning. An intense discipline, but that many consider beneficial to keep free time in the evening or improve their morale.

Be careful however: this routine is not suitable for everyone. The “Layer-Tard” chronotypes can suffer from it. In summer, with its longer days and reduced constraints, remains the perfect time to test this lifestyle without pressure.

What science says: a mathematical formula to get up well

Among all the routines mentioned, only one was scientifically modeled. In 2022, Anne-Marie Imafidon, British mathematician, developed an equation supposed to determine the ideal morning routine. Funded by the brand Special Khis work is based on a study carried out with 2,000 participants in the United Kingdom.

Here is the “perfect morning” according to her:

  • Wake up at 6:44 am, get up at 7:12 am;
  • 21 minutes of physical exercise;
  • 10 minutes of shower;
  • 18 minutes for breakfast.

But the real novelty is the possibility of evaluating your own routine via a personalized formula, integrating sleep hours, duration of morning activities, and time to rise.

If the final score exceeds 37, your routine would be optimal for a balanced day. A fun and reassuring method to validate – or adjust – its summer habits.
