And the French know it well! According to a study carried out by Meetic, 79% of them think they can fall in love with a simple intonation… Explanations.
An unstoppable asset to seduce
According to a CINT study carried out for Meetic in France in April 2024, among 1,000 men and women aged 25 to 49, the voice would be a “vector of emotions and surprises”.
“It allows us to learn a lot about someone… and has the power to make us vibrate and arouse the desire to discover the other (or not)“, reveals the study. Moreover, nearly 79% of singles think they can fall in love with a voice.
Indeed, for 80% of single men and 78% of single women, voice is very important in the context of a romantic encounter, even if men seem to be a little more sensitive to this natural charm.
“67% of men say they have already been seduced just by the voice of a person, compared to 54% of women. A total of 60% of singles have already fallen under the spell of a partner’s voice!“, the press release further reveals.
While online dating is mainly focused on the exchange of written messages, voice could therefore be “one of the best assets for seduction”, say experts.
“The vocabulary used, the tone, the rhythm and even the vocal timbre can play a determining role during a meeting or a first exchange. Often more expressive than the words themselves, the voice conveys intentions and a personality capable of arousing real attraction in the desired person.“, they admit.
The voice, reflection of love
In a previous interview, specialist Lubomir Lamy told us that “the voice can also betray love”. Voice tone and intonation can tell a lot about a man’s interest in a woman (and vice versa).
When it’s time for rapprochement, the voice would indeed become deeper and softer.
“A warm voice undoubtedly refers to the warmth of the heart and feelings. Love is hot, while hatred or indifference are cold.“
