A simple weight loss tea bag ordered on Amazon can actually hide a powerful weight loss drug. The official RappelConso platform has just published a series of recalls targeting diet drinks, including Alâ green tea, contaminated with sibutraminea medicinal substance completely banned in food.
These products are classified as “Diet Foods and Nutrition” and were sold at room temperature throughout France. The recalls, of a voluntary nature and without a prefectural order, concern all batches placed on the market. It remains to be seen if one of these slimming teas or coffees is available to you.
Recall of sibutramine teas: why this substance is worrying
Sibutramine is described in official data sheets as an active medicinal substance prohibited in foods. This is the former active ingredient of the anti-obesity drug Sibutral, whose marketing authorization was withdrawn in 2010 at European level due to serious adverse effects, particularly on the heart and nervous system.
In other recalls of products containing sibutramine, authorities report cases of hypertension, tachycardia, palpitations, headaches, sleep disorders and even epileptic seizures. These foodstuffs are officially described as likely to cause serious adverse effects, which justifies great caution.
Slimming teas and coffees sold on Amazon affected by the recall
Recent recalls affect several references of slimming teas and coffees sold on Amazon in France, all to be stored at room temperature. The products concerned are as follows:
- Alâ Green tea (Alâ brand).
- CENNATEA (CENNATEA tea).

- FOR X5 Chocolate, ForX5 Coffee, FOR X5 mixed lemon tea.
- GLOX Diet Bromelain Coffee (GLOX brand).
For each of them, the sheets specify that all batches are included in the recall procedure. All of these products fall under the “Diet Foods and Nutrition” category and are presented as helping to lose weight or lose weight. Other slimming teas and coffees sold online, such as Meri detox tea or DIOX Teadetox, have already been the subject of similar recalls for the presence of sibutramine.
What to do if you bought a tea containing sibutramine
Faced with this type of reminderthe official instructions are clear: no longer consume and no longer use the product. In the event of an unusual symptom after ingestion, it is better to consult a doctor without delay and report the event on the national health event reporting portal, while reporting the possible presence of the product for sale via SignalConso.
