This yogurt is the ideal slimming ally according to a nutritionist, do you eat it?
Never know what to have for dessert or breakfast? The choice is very wide in terms of yogurts… Discover the one recommended by experts to lose weight while having fun!

Do you love yogurt and are looking for one that will help you stay in shape without compromising on taste? According to micronutritionist Angélique Houlbert, there is a product in the supermarket that ticks all the boxes. Questioned by Elle, she reveals her choice in her work The Right Choice at the supermarket (Editions Thierry Souccar). To confirm these recommendations, Alexandra Murcier, dietitian-nutritionist, also gives her opinion on this slimming yogurt.

Skyr, a slimming ally with many benefits

The yogurt in question is skyr, a product of Icelandic origin. Highly appreciated for its thick texture and slightly tangy taste, it has interesting nutritional benefits:

  • Rich in protein: it helps prolong satiety and limits cravings;
  • Low in fat: ideal for controlling your caloric intake;
  • Source of calcium: beneficial for bone health.

To optimize its benefits, Angélique Houlbert particularly recommends skyr from the Yoplait brand, sold at around €7 per kilo.

Be careful of versions that are too sweet

If skyr is an excellent choice, Alexandra Murcier warns against certain pitfalls. Not all products are equal, and some skyrs contain too much sugar or additives. She therefore advises:

  • Favor a short list of ingredients, without unnecessary additives;
  • Avoid flavored versions:Be careful to choose the least processed skyr possible because there are many flavored and very sweet skyrs (tiramisu flavor, crème brûlée, etc.). With these products, we move away from the initial benefits because they are too sweet or rich in sweeteners.”specifies Alexandra Murcier;
  • Sweeten naturally with fresh fruit rather than processed products.

Less expensive alternatives

If the price of skyr is holding you back, don’t panic! Alexandra Murcier suggests two economic alternatives with similar benefits:

  • Cottage cheese: a protein content close to skyr;
  • The little Swiss: a creamier option, rich in calcium.

For a balanced slimming snack, consider adding some fresh fruit and a handful of nuts for a delicious and nutritious combo.
