As winter approaches, health authorities want to strengthen protection against respiratory viruses. This year again, France is organizing a joint vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza and COVVI-19.

A duet campaign against flu and covid

Doctors, pharmacists, nurses, midwives and hospitals will actively participate in this operation. Who is concerned and how much does it cost?

Health insurance specifies that “Flu vaccines are 100 % supported for people targeted by recommendations”. Are you concerned? Yes, if you are part of this list.

  • People 65 and over;
  • Those with chronic diseases (diabetes, complicated hypertension, cardiac, pulmonary, renal or hepatic pathologies, etc.);
  • Immunocompromised people,
  • Pregnant women;
  • Residents of EHPAD or USLD (long -term care units);
  • Relatives of vulnerable people and professionals in the medico-social sector.

For the rest of the population, the flu vaccine remains accessible in pharmacies for ten euros. On the other hand, the COVVI-19 vaccine remains free for everyone, whether or not they are in priority audiences.

The High Authority for Health (HAS) also recommends an annual dose in the fall for those most at risk. As well as an additional dose in the spring for the most fragile (80 years and over, immunocompromised, residents in nursing homes).
