Vigilance! Trays of organic smoked salmon are recalled throughout France due to Listeria
Trays of organic smoked salmon sold at Vitafrais and Biocoop are subject to a recall this Thursday, October 30. Sold since October 11, they are possibly contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Organic smoked salmon, usually synonymous with refinement on French tables, is the subject of a major product recall. Two brands well known to consumers, OséBio and Le Petit Fumé Drômois, are urgently removing their organic smoked salmon packs from the shelves due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria responsible for listeriosis.

This consumer recall, published on October 30, 2025, concerns several references sold throughout France, in particular in Biocoop brands, independent organic stores and via the distributor Vitafrais. These aquaculture products, presented in vacuum-packed silver cardboard strips, were marketed between October 11 and November 9, 2025. Consumers are called upon to be extremely vigilant, because these infected batches were widely distributed throughout the country.

What are the health risks?

The presence of Listeria monocytogenes in these batches of organic smoked salmon can cause a serious infection called listeriosis. This disease manifests itself with symptoms such as fever, headache and body aches. Severe forms can lead to neurological complications, and particularly serious consequences for pregnant women, the elderly or immunocompromised people.
The incubation period for listeriosis can be up to eight weeks, making monitoring of symptoms essential after consumption of the product. The health authorities invite any person concerned to consult their doctor without delay, specifying the consumption of the suspect product.

How to get reimbursed?
