Cuprofen

Cuprofen tablets can help alleviate mild and moderate pain associated with rheumatic and muscular issues, back pains, strains and sprains, toothaches, migraines and headaches, as well as period pain. The active ingredient of Cuprofen is the anti-inflammatory substance ibuprofen.

What Is Cuprofen?

Cuprofen is a treatment used to deal with various types of pain, including muscular and rheumatic pain, back pain, sprains, strains, migraines, toothaches, headaches, period pain and others. It can also help with inflammations as it contains ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory substance as its active ingredient.

How Does Cuprofen Work?

The active ingredient in Cuprofen is ibuprofen, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The treatment works as it blocks the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme and its action.

Cyclooxygenase is responsible for producing a substance called prostaglandins, which our body releases as a response when we are injured or dealing with an inflammation which occurs due to various conditions and diseases.

Prostaglandins in turn cause pain, swelling and inflammation which can lead to a number of very uncomfortable symptoms. The ibuprofen in Cuprofen helps regulate the production of prostaglandins, which in turn leads to alleviating symptoms such as pain, swelling and fever.

Ibuprofen can also help ease the fever associated with these conditions and prostaglandin production since they are responsible for increasing our fever when the levels of this substance in our brain increase. When the levels are dropped down, so does the fever.

Cuprofen can also help women regulate period pain as prostaglandins are also responsible for womb contractions which occur during the menstrual period.

Who Can Benefit From Taking Cuprofen?

Cuprofen helps lower the levels of prostaglandin production in our bodies thanks to its active ingredient, ibuprofen. Therefore, it can be used by people suffering from various types of pain, inflammation and high fever. It can also help ease menstrual pains in women.

The treatment is highly effective in managing pain related to muscular and rheumatic issues, as well as neuralgia, toothache, headache and other common types of pain. It can help people suffering from symptoms of the common cold and other seasonal viruses by lowering high fever and helping regulate pain associated with these conditions, such as headaches and muscle pain.

How Should I Use Cuprofen?

Cuprofen should be taken during or after a meal with a glass of water or milk to reduce the risk of stomach irritation. Make sure to use the minimal dose required to relieve your symptoms for as short as possible. If your symptoms do not improve with the treatment or they get worse, make sure you seek immediate medical attention.

  •         If any of the following points apply to you, do not use Cuprofen:

  •         If you are already taking any COX-2 inhibitors or NSAIDs in general.
  •         If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
  •         If you are trying to get pregnant, as ibuprofen can affect female fertility.
