It’s not the size that matters? This is an adage we often hear about the male sex, but is it really true? To check what really matters to the fairer sex, a survey carried out on 1,400 women (8 out of 10 of whom were heterosexual, the rest bisexual) asked “technical” questions about what they considered attractive in the male organ. Watch your eyes!
Yes, size matters…to a point
Hard news for self-conscious gentlemen: more than two thirds of those questioned sincerely declared that an erect member of less than ten centimeters would not completely satisfy them. Nine out of 10 women also rejected the idea of a penis of “between one and three inches” or between 2.5 and 7.5 cm, what we call micropenis. Interestingly, one in 200 people still admitted that a penis of 2.5 cm would be too big for them… which the researchers attribute to women probably suffering from vaginismus.
Too big a penis also scares away these ladies
At the other end of the subject, a penis that is too large is not popular either. 51% of women surveyed said that nine inches (22 cm!), the size men often dream of, was way too big for them. A penis that is too large causes pain for many, or even a risk of bruising and vaginal tears.
In addition, almost 4 out of 10 women surveyed think that too much sex indicates that the partner will not be sufficiently inclined towards foreplay (small sizes regain the advantage!) and 30% declared that he would undoubtedly be too “sexually selfish” because of the size of his penis.
An ideal far from reality
Based on the results, the researchers suggested that the ideal size is between 15 and 20 cm, which would suit 77% of women…But most men cannot compete with this size. According to a recent study, the average length of the erect penis is around 12 cm. The same goes for girth: on average, the women surveyed preferred a penis 5 cm wide, a little more than the national average of 4.6 cm.
Fortunately, the applied practice of foreplay would, according to them, compensate for this small gap.
The size of your penis, the compass of your love?
Down with romance! A final observation would also undermine the famous adage. Size, attractive or not, would have an effect on the choice of a partner. So according to the responses collected:
- 44% of women take into account the size of a man’s penis before deciding to go out with him (How? The survey doesn’t say);
- Four in ten people said they were less likely to date someone whose penis seemed too small;
- Meanwhile, 57% said they would consider breaking up with their partner if their penis was too big;
- And if they thought their partner’s penis was too small, two-thirds of them would consider breaking up with him;
- The wrong size could even lead some women to cheat on their partners.
“We can clearly see that penis size matters much more to a woman’s pleasure in a relationship than it does in a one-night stand.” A truth finally established.
