Protecting your heart and your health is partly based on what you eat. And in the department of beneficial foods, a new study has just revealed the unsuspected power of the lawyer.
One lawyer per day changes the quality of life
In this study, published in Jaha (Journal of the American Heart Association), a team has thus followed nearly 1,000 American adults, all with a high size, a proven cardiovascular risk factor. For six months, participants separated into two groups, consumed either a lawyer per day, or less than two per month.
Result: participants of the first group declared to sleep longer and benefit from better quality sleep. They also presented slight improvements on certain cardiovascular markers, such as LDL cholesterol.
These observations are not only based on an impression. These were analyzed using the framework Life’s Essential 8established by the American Heart Association, which assesses cardiovascular health through several criteria, including food, physical activity, blood pressure, and now, sleep.
The lawyer would therefore have a positive effect, on sleep as on the heart.
A rich fruit … in benefits
Thus under its creamy texture and its richness in good fat, the lawyer is also a real health ally. And this for several reasons.
Regarding sleep, let us recall that the lawyer contains tryptophan, an amino acid precursor of serotonin and melatonin, two hormones essential to falling asleep and the quality of sleep. It is also rich in magnesium, which promotes muscle relaxation and regulates circadian rhythms, thus facilitating a more peaceful night.
Another advantage: its fibers, which slow down the absorption of sugar and limit nocturnal glycemic fluctuations, often responsible for micro-acknowledgments.
Finally, on the heart side, its mono-insaturated fatss contribute to reducing the rate of bad cholesterol (LDL) and support the health of the arteries. An essential factor for a heart that works in slow motion during sleep.
“Its fatty acids play an important role in decreasing the rate of bad cholesterol and are beneficial to cardiovascular health“”also indicated Raphaël Gruman, nutritionist in a previous article. An affirmation reinforced by a study published in 2022 in the Journal of the American Heart Associationaccording to which the consumption of a lawyer per day would reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 16 % and by 21 % that of coronary disease.
Several assets to reconsider it in your salads this summer.
