White teeth even when drinking coffee, a dentist's secret you absolutely must know
Coffee is often accused of dulling the shine of teeth. However, a simple method can counter this undesirable effect.

It is a proven fact: coffee, by sticking to the surface of the teeth, affects their original whiteness. The tannins present in your little black can also cause unsightly stains to appear. Fortunately, it is possible to overcome it thanks to a simple tip, revealed by a dentist.

Yellowing of teeth, a natural and often inevitable phenomenon

With all due respect to people addicted to their “Colgate smile”, yellowing of teeth is a natural phenomenon (depending on our genetic heritage, some teeth are naturally ivory, yellow or grayish) and almost inevitable: dentin, which represents the heart of the tooth, darkens over time.

External factors then influence this original pigmentation: lifestyle, for example, plays an important role.

If you consume a lot of coffee, tea, red wine, grape juice and foods that stain (beets, berries, blueberries, cranberries… but also curry, ketchup, saffron, turmeric…) your teeth become colored more quickly.

Likewise, tobacco, excess fluoride as well as poor oral hygiene promote the appearance of yellowish or brownish stains, which intensify over time. Fortunately, there is a simple way to limit these inconveniences.

How to preserve the shine of your teeth after drinking coffee?

Dr. Solal Sayada, dental surgeon and co-founder of Aligneurs Français, recommends drinking a simple glass of water after drinking coffee – ideally a few minutes later.

This action, both easy and quick, helps rinse residue that could cling to your teeth while partially neutralizing the acidity of the coffee“, he explains to our colleagues at Journal des Femmes.

In this way, tooth enamel is protected and the risk of staining is reduced.

On the other hand, two grandmother’s tips should be avoided if you want to maintain a dazzling smile: lemon juice, which causes demineralization of the enamel, and baking powder, which is far too abrasive.

Simply brushing your teeth regularly is enough to preserve the natural whiteness of your teeth.
