A new product recall was announced on January 16, 2026 by BRiENT. Old-fashioned plain white pudding (250g), sold without a specific brand, could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, responsible for listeriosis. This recall concerns batches distributed throughout France between January 8 and 16, 2026. Health authorities recommend particular vigilance for pregnant women, the elderly and immunocompromised people.
Which products are affected and where to find them?
The recalled lots bear the GTIN 3346650275038 and concern:
- Lot 000011480871 – Use-by date: 01/28/2026;
- Lot 000011481504 – Use-by date: 01/29/2026
The product is sold in 250g vacuum packaging, and distributed mainly by FRESH. They were available throughout France between January 8 and 16, 2026. As a reminder, this white pudding must be kept in the refrigerator.
Why is this recall urgent?
Suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination can cause symptoms such as fever, headache and body aches. In certain cases, the disease can cause serious complications: neurological damage, severe infections in fragile people and risks for the fetus in pregnant women. The incubation time can be up to eight weeks, making vigilance particularly important.
What should consumers do?
- Do not consume the product concerned;
- Return the product to the point of sale for reimbursement;
- Consult a doctor if symptoms appear, reporting the consumption of white pudding.
