Toddler snacks don’t necessarily require a long time to prepare. On Instagram, Solene Collin, specialist in baby and child nutrition, shared a recipe for quick and modular peanut cookies from 12 months. In five minutes, this preparation can be adapted to the fruits available according to the season and the child’s tastes.
Peanut cookies for babies ready in five minutes
When time is short at snack time, five minutes of preparation can make the difference. The recipe shared by Solene Collin focuses on this simplicity, with peanut cookies intended for children from 12 months.
The preparation can evolve throughout the year thanks to the fruits. Solene Collin explains: “Whether it’s a plum, pieces of apple, a clementine. That depends on the season“. A way to modify the recipe depending on the fruits available.
This customization doesn’t stop there. The paste can also be prepared with different oilseed purees.
“You can also prepare them with hazelnut puree or almond puree for variety. That’s you who choose“, specifies the specialist.
Parents can therefore change these cookies according to the seasons and their child’s preferences.
What about chocolate chips?
Chocolate chips are not essential for the preparation. Solene Collin specifies: “The chocolate chips are completely optional. You can make the cookies without, or replace them with raisins.“
Some conservation and safety tips
In terms of storage, the cookies can be kept for up to two days in the refrigerator in an airtight container. The preparation can also be frozen.
For a child aged 12 months and over, the texture must however be adapted to their chewing abilities in order to limit the risk of choking.
