Zelleta

Zelleta, also called as mini-pill is a type of contraceptive pill that contains one female sex hormone, the progestogen desogestrel. Zelleta pill is a great contraceptive method with 99% effectivity when taken correctly. Zelleta mini-pill is a progestogen-only pill, which does not only work by preventing the sperm from entering the womb as other mini-pills primarily do but also prevents the egg from ripening. Due to enough dosage of the pill in preventing the egg from ripening, in some cases, some side effect from taking the Zelleta pill will include an irregular interval of bleeding or not having a period at all. Since Zelleta pill only has progestogen, therefore it is safe for women who cannot tolerate oestrogen or who are breastfeeding to take as long as the person is not pregnant or undertaking medical treatment and medications that may affect the effectivity of the pill. It is also advisable to consult your doctor first before taking Zelleta contraceptive pill if you had medical conditions from the past.

Zelleta tablets are made of Potato starch, Povidone, all-rac-α-tocopherol, Silica colloidal anhydrous, Stearic acid and Lactose anhydrous or milk sugar. Please contact your doctor before taking the pill if you have been told that you are intolerant to some sugars.

Zelleta is a great contraceptive method. Most mini-pills prevent the sperm from entering the womb, but they do not prevent the egg from ripening. Zelleta has the appropriate dosage to stop or prevent the female egg from ripening thus making the pill effective more than 99% if used right according to the direction. Most women can take this pill, even breastfeeding mothers. There is a possibility of a small amount of progestogen to pass on your milk but it is not harmful to the baby. It does not affect the quality of the milk production however there has been an infrequent report on the decrease of milk production during the taking of the pill. No further study has been made to prove that progestogen substance is the cause of it.

A strip of Zelleta consists of 28 pills to be taken every day without skipping a day. In front of the strip, there are printed arrows which serve as a guide on the next pill you should take. To monitor the daily intake of the pill, the days of the week are printed at the back of the strip. You should follow the arrows each day according to the day you are taking the treatment So if you are just starting to take Zelleta pill, you should take the pill at the top with the indicated day from when you are taking it.

Let’s say you are taking it on Thursday. You should find the tablet at the top with the word Thursday printed. On the next day, take another pill from the Friday print following the arrows. Each pill should be taken within a 24-hour interval each every day at the same time to ensure and maintain the effectivity of the contraceptive pill. You may have some bleeding while taking the pill but you should continue taking it as normal as long as the bleeding is not prolonged or painful. If you finish the whole 28-pill strip, you should continue taking Zelleta with a new strip without any delay of the usual time you are taking it and without waiting on your next period.

It is unlikely and there is a very small amount of possibility that you will get pregnant while taking the progestogen-only pill if you are following the instruction of taking the pill each day with 24 hours interval each at the same time every day.
