What is Xyloproct Ointment?

Xyloproct Ointment is a medication used to treat haemorrhoids or piles and the symptoms of pain, itching, and discomfort associated with it. It contains Hydrocortisone and Lidocaine that work effectively to relieve the pain and reduce the inflammation caused by the haemorrhoid.

Haemorrhoids, although generally not harmful, can cause pain and discomfort to the sufferer. Those who are over the age of 45, spend a lot of time sitting, pregnant, or with a family history of haemorrhoids are more at risk of having haemorrhoids.

Haemorrhoids or piles are swollen or enlarged blood vessels that can cause discomfort, itching, and irritation in or around the anal region after a bowel movement. They may be either internal (inside the anus) or external (outside the anus).

How does Xyloproct Ointment work?

Xyloproct ointment contains hydrocortisone and lidocaine that work together to treat the haemorrhoid and relieve its symptoms.

Lidocaine is a type of medicine called local anaesthetic that temporarily blocks the nerve fibres giving a numb effect to provide relief from symptoms like pain and itching.

Hydrocortisone, on the other hand, is a corticosteroid used to reduce the inflammation, swelling, and itching of the haemorrhoids.

What are the benefits of using Xyloproct Ointment?

It is effective in providing relief to the patient, thus enabling him or her to do tasks without the hassle of pain and itchiness.
